Privacy Policy

Summary
ScreenFox is a macOS screenshot tool. Your screenshots stay on your Mac unless you choose to copy them to the clipboard, save them to a file, or share them yourself. We do not sell your personal information.
Information We Collect
The app may contact our server to start and check your trial, verify a license key, and send basic app telemetry such as app launch, capture success or failure, overlay actions, app version, macOS version, architecture, a per-device licensing identifier, and a temporary session identifier.
If you activate a license, the app sends your license key and device identifier to verify access. The app also checks for updates using the standard Sparkle updater.
Screenshots
ScreenFox needs macOS Screen Recording permission to capture your display. Captures are written to temporary local files for the overlay and are removed when the overlay closes. Cropped screenshots are only written to the clipboard or to a file when you choose those actions.
Local Storage
The app stores local settings such as your hotkey, license state, trial status cache, and short-lived diagnostic logs on your Mac.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to operate trials and licensing, provide app updates, understand whether the app is working, troubleshoot problems, and improve ScreenFox.
Third Parties
We may use service providers for hosting, payments, update delivery, and related infrastructure. Those providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
